More care is needed to protect children from contracting COVID-19, according to Murdoch Children’s Research Institute Paediatrician, Margie Danchin.
Speaking to Virginia Trioli on Mornings, Associate Professor Danchin said COVID cases in children are rising, and the effects of the disease are “far-ranging”:
“We don’t want children to get infected with COVID, it has a massive impact if they are isolating at home, and this impacts them far more than just the direct effects,” she said.
“We need to use our full armoury, that includes vaccination… but it’s also about masks, it’s about improving ventilation, and it’s about kids getting the flu vaccine as well this winter.”
